I don't know the mechanics of watches so I will only comment on the aesthetics. The watch arrived in a beautiful presentation box (pic on website). It is heavy and sturdy. The watch itself is very pretty. The diamonds add some shine without being 'too much'. The watch face is mother of pearl; one thing I didn't expect from the pictures is that it has a 'brushed' finish, like brushed metal. The watch has some weight to it and is not small. At first I wasn't sure if the face and band would be too big for me proportionally, but it looks nice. I do need to have a few links taken out of the band, so I think it would fit most wrists.

***Note: there is a card that comes in the package that says if you don't purchase the watch from an authorized dealer then the warranty is not applicable. There is actually a card the dealer is supposed to fill out.

Re cost: I looked all over the web to check the price. The cheapest I have seen it advertised for is the Amazon price; generally the price range is $500-600, and many watches with this brand are hundreds of dollars more. I got this watch on sale on another website (one of those emails where you need to buy the item in the next five hours...). It was a great price, but it was the ONLY sale I found then and now (I'm wiring this about two weeks later). The quality of the watch (as far as I can tell) is in line with the price.

All in all, I am very pleased with this and will use it for my 'nice everyday' watch. (I prefer something smaller for dressy occasions.) When I ordered it I wasn't sure whether I would keep it because of the size and cost, but yes, it's a keeper.
