I purchased this wtach for my 10 year old daughter. She did not have it for more than a week before it malfunctioned and the alarm went off in her classroom. She could not turn it off with the alram code and the school had to destroy it trying to get the batteries out. This product needs futher testing and I would not recommend its purchase for a child.
